DO NOT BE AFRAID FOR I MYSELF WILL HELP YOU

“From the Heart” teaching by Drs. Rodney & Adonica Howard-Browne.

“But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, 9 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, `You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 11 “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. 12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. 13 For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. 14 Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you,” declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 15 “See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff. 16 You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the LORD and glory in the Holy One of Israel.”  Isaiah 41:8-16 NIV

This passage shows the nature of our Heavenly Father—so loving and kind and patient—as he deals with His people—stubborn and rebellious as they are!

But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. Because He made a covenant with Abraham and promised to bless his descendants, God continued to watch over them and be kind to them—even though they severely tried His patience.

I said, `You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.  So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. One of the awesome things about God is that He is so slow to anger and so swift to forgive and to restore. When we repent, turn around and commit to Him, He forgives us completely as if it never happened and He treats us as if we are His family. Under the Old Covenant, the best position that God’s people had with the Father was that of a servant. It was an honor for God to call you His servant. Under the New Covenant, we are not only servants, but we are sons and daughters of God and we enjoy all the rights and privileges of our position.

When we return to Him in humility and repentance, He reminds us that He has not rejected us. In reality, when we feel that God is far from us, it is usually we who have already rejected Him. The good news is that if He does not reject us, then that means that He must have already accepted us! If we want to see God’s promise of help and strength manifested in our lives, then we must deal with fear and reject it from our hearts, from our thoughts and from our mouths. If we believe and receive God’s promise that He will be with us, strengthen us, help us and uphold us, then that is exactly what we will experience. God makes it available—we tap into it when we refuse to be dismayed or fearful. Instead we choose to trust in Him and to believe in Him.

All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. When you are on God’s side then He is on your side. It is completely useless for your enemies to try to take you out. By attacking you, they sow the seeds of their own destruction. They will come to attack you, but they are the ones who will be taken out. When you place your trust in the Lord, He will contend with your enemies on your behalf. When God is finished with them, you will look for them, but you will not find them.

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you,” declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. “See, I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff. You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the LORD and glory in the Holy One of Israel.Even though we may feel unworthy of God’s love, He loves us anyway. Because He loves us, He anoints us with power to do what we could not do. He gives us a reason to rejoice in the Lord and glory in the Holy One of Israel!

What Is Celebrate America?

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne, with Revival Ministries International, are looking forward to Celebrate America just as they did in the summer of 1999 when, for six weeks consecutively, they rented Madison Square Garden, the world’s most famous arena, for Good News New York!

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne are inviting local churches, the community, and members of government, in which many of them will be sharing their faith, and all nationalities to be a part of Celebrate America. We are celebrating America as she turns 239 years old. During Celebrate America, we will commemorate the Declaration of Independence and what the Constitution of the United States has meant to this land. We will celebrate the heritage of America and our Founding Fathers who acknowledged “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” We will remember The Great Spiritual Awakenings of this land, the impact of which they made, and The Great Awakening that is soon to come. Celebrate America.

Dear Friends,

Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne invite you to join them for Celebrate America this July in Washington D.C. at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Constitution Hall. Just as we looked forward to Good News New York in the summer of 1999 at Madison Square Garden, we are looking forward to this event.

Local churches, the community, members of government (many of whom will be sharing their faith), all Americans, and anyone, from any nation, who loves America, are invited to be a part of Celebrate America. We are celebrating America as she turns 238 years old. During these 14 days of Celebrate America, we will commemorate the United States Declaration of Independence and what the Constitution of the United States has meant to this land. We will celebrate the heritage of America and our Founding Fathers who acknowledged “firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” We will remember the Great Spiritual Awakenings of this land, the impact they made, and The Great Awakening that is soon to come.

Pastors, leaders, church groups, youth groups, and all believers, all around America, we ask you to begin praying for America, her leaders, and for Celebrate America. And we also encourage you to make plans to join us and to be a part of this very timely event.

The evening meetings are at 7 PM; admission is free. In the mornings, Power Evangelism will take place at 10 AM. Call, email, Facebook, and Tweet your friends and family to attend and to get involved; volunteers are needed. Sign up today.

Rodney Howard Browne – Jayson W. Testimony

God has been doing some amazing things since my wife and I moved to Tampa, Florida to attend R.B.I. Many of the changes that have taken place in my life words cannot completely describe. My life is forever changed.

One thing that has happened is a change of heart. My whole perspective on ministry has changed. I see ministry as meeting the needs of people by leading them toward Jesus. Ministry is not about fame, power, or prestige, but it’s about Jesus being famous to His people. Since school has started there has been a fire ignited in my heart to see souls saved and to lay my life completely down for the sake of the Gospel.

Also, each meeting that I have been in, the Lord has been working on my heart in different areas. The fire of God has gone deep down in my heart, revealing anything that is not of God. I feel like I have been on the operating table and Jesus has been doing a work on the inside of me.

In addition, since I have been a part of R.B.I., I have had more of a desire to see souls saved for the Kingdom of God. It has been such an honor to be a part of the River Church and Revival Ministries International. My vision for my life has positively altered, and I’m always thinking what really matters from eternity’s perspective. I’m constantly thinking about one’s salvation and the state of one’s relationship with the Lord.

The major theme that I have learned is this: everything must have an eternal purpose. Eternity is real and as the Body of Christ, we must contend for the hearts of men by presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone. My heart is stirred to see a great awakening in America, and to see revival throughout the entire world….Jayson W.

The word of God is our anchor, our foundation. The parable of the sower:( Matthew 13:4) talks about when the sower went to sow some seeds and some fell on the roadside, but the fowls came and devoured them up. Many hear the word of God but they do not understand it. Then comes the devil and catches away that which was sown in the heart. In (Matthew 13:5-6) Some seed fell in stony places, which there was some soil for the seed. They sprang up but since there was not much soil they soon died. The sun rose and they were scorched. Many will hear the word of God and accept the Word with excitement and joy, but it is not rooted in their heart so when tribulation or persecution come, they stumble and soon he is no longer even obeying God. (Matthew 13:7) Some seed fell upon thorns, the seed sprung up and the thorns choked them where the seed fell, when it sprang up it died because you can’t love this world and love God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot love the deceitfulness of riches, what you sow to the flesh will not only bring destruction, but your heart won’t receive the word, since your desires are more about yourself and not what the Lord wants for you. So, when you receive the word and the (seed) falls on good soil, then you’ll see fruit in that believer’s life because he didn’t let the lies of the devil get to his head. Instead he cast down every vain image that does not line up with the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; They stood firm on the Word of God in the times of persecution and they were not moved by the storms of life but instead kept their eyes on Jesus! This parable of the sower is important in the believer’s life.  In the Bible it says, many are called but few are chosen.  Many just want to sit in service and yes, they hear the word of God but they want to do as they wish, and do not root the word in their hearts. Instead, they hear the word that is being preached just for the devil to come in and devour what they “try to take root in their hearts” l. Yet they don’t even have a close relationship with God. Many prefer the riches of this world as well, but in the Bible it says, (Matthew 6:19) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: so why care so much for the things of this earth when the reward in heaven is so much more precious. God will take out the stony heart and put in a heart of flesh ( Ezekiel 11:19). Let him in your heart; let him change you from the inside out. The things of this world are not equal to anything that God promises us, he is so GOOD, His word is true. Let God’s word be rooted in your heart!!

August was the last month of my internship at the River Bible Institute.  This has been an amazing three years.  The first two years were in a classroom setting.  It didn’t matter if you were just recently saved or if you had been born again for years, there was something for everyone.  After all, God called each of us to the Institute so He was going to make sure we got what was intended for each of us individually. The last year was actually working in the ministry and experiencing how a ministry operates on a day to day basis.  The greatest thing I appreciate is how this is like a family.  There was always a pastor available and willing to talk to you about issues.  There was always a friend or two who would come over and pray with you when things got tough.  Then there is the growth.  Any time there are people, there is an opportunity for growth.  We rub against each other and the rough edges get smoother.  No, not in them; in ourselves!  Emotions and attitudes flair and the Lord reminds us they have to go.  It’s not pleasant, but it’s necessary.  As we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, the enemy flees.  Stability and maturity come.  We are building godly character.  That is a life-long project and I’m thankful that I was able to have a good deal of “growth” during my internship.  I’m grateful for all I’ve learned and experienced at RBI.  It’s been an awesome experience.

Matthew Testimony

Since I have started my internship in May, it has been a stretching on my inner man. I started my internship thinking ” well this is not going to be any different from what I have been doing.” speaking of me plugging into the outreach dept. Every day of my second year, I thought I was going to stay in the flow of what I was doing before, wow was I wrong. All through my first and second year I was plugged in the outreach department, helping in outreaches, teaching soul winning classes, cleaning and taking out the trash. After doing that for two years I was thinking internship piece of cake. May 27th I started internship and within that week I think I had my first thoughts of dropping out.
The stretching has been mainly in the area of my character and my patience. As in my first and second year, I had other activities with the school to do which took up time. While in internship it is 9-5, just internship. With that comes more responsibility and leadership that is required from you. The Lord has done a lot on the inside of me in the past three months.  He has shown me things that need to be changed and things that need to be increased. I’m looking forward to see what God has for me next.

Matthew chapter 13, Jesus speaks to the multitudes about a sower going forth to sow seed. As Pastor Rodney brought forth this message, it brought me back to the reason why I turned my life around. My whole life fell under the parable of hearing the Word of God but having it never take root. My understanding of where I was in my relationship with God had not truly revealed itself to me. I was a lukewarm Christian and just knew that I was better off than my friends because unlike them I was going to church on Sunday. In the beginning of September 2011, I went two whole weeks feeling empty and decided to just go out more. This of course did not work in filling this void I had. For a couple of weeks at my church, Evangel Cathedral in Upper Marlboro, MD, Bishop Don spoke about being lukewarm. During the service my Spirit revealed to me that I was not on fire for Christ and I needed to repent. I decided to cry out to God for a better understanding of the word and for Him to fill me. After going to Bible study throughout that week I no longer felt empty but full of joy. My heart was receptive to the sermons and my relationship with God began to grow. When I cried out to God I promised myself and Him that I would no longer put anything or anyone before Him. I started to submerge myself in His presence and in His word. Every service I cried out for Him to clean me and to take out anything that was not of Him. I became diligent in spending time with my Heavenly Father, and the word of God is now taking root.
